The Threatt Report is intended to address and respond to the many issues facing us locally, nationally, and globally from a Biblical Worldview. My desire is not to defame or disrespect any, but to expose the lies and to speak the truth in love.
Patrick moved to Charlotte NC in the fall of 2008 from Virginia Beach, VA. He is a 30-year industry professional in the Call Center and Financial Technology space (FINTECH). He has been a conservative and devoted Christian since the age of twenty-four. Prior to 2009, Patrick had only been a committed voter, tracking candidates and their issues, but never involved in the grassroots. That changed in 2009 when both his industry and his personal ability to provide health insurance to his employees and family were decimated by the Affordable Care Act.
Beyond his professional endeavors, he has made significant contributions to civic organizations. He is actively involved in grassroots politics, reflecting his dedication to community service and advocacy. Previously, Mr. Miller was instrumental as a coach, trainer, and consultant for the Crossroads Career Network from 2009 to 2016 and as the board chair for the VA/DC Health Care Financial Management Association between 2010 and 2016.
Patrick is a certified behavioral interviewer through the Crossroads Career Network where he remained at the side of more than two hundred job seekers in Charlotte, mentoring them until they found their next career during the great recession between 2009 and 2012.
In 2012, several of the job seekers in his workshops came to him with great concern over a Charlotte City plan to dramatically raise taxes on city residents. The plan was to take the city’s budget of $1.044 billion and raise it to $1.97 billion, a more than 80% increase in taxes and spending during the worst recession since the great depression. He took a copy of a Charlotte Observer article to an open house meeting for the Mecklenburg County GOP and asked how they were planning on stopping it. Raising property taxes and sales taxes for Charlotte residents during a time of more than 9% unemployment was morally reprehensible in his opinion. The MeckGOP Chairman said they did not have the resources to stop it. So, Patrick immediately went to work in the community. He had developed relationships and a network of business professionals between 2008 and 2012. Patrick began calling on them to create a grassroots team to stop it from happening. He helped organize hundreds of Charlotte residents to appeal to the council members and the mayor’s office. During budget negotiations, council members appeared to support the entire plan. But in June, council members voted 6-5 against the budget after the opposition had grown to tens of thousands of residents as was dominating the local new cycle. His team convinced four Democrats to switch their votes from yes to no.
He and his wife Desiree went on to organize against the Charlotte sexual orientation, gender identity ordinance (SOGI) in both 2014 and 2016. In February of 2016, his wife Desiree hosted the Rise-Up 2016 Conference in Charlotte which successfully brought hundreds of Charlotte area Christians off the side-lines and into the political arena. When the second attempt at a SOGI passed Charlotte City Council in 2016, he traveled with a caravan of business owners and concerned citizens to Raleigh and met with Governor McCrory’s Legislative Affairs team. Patrick was one of the leaders who spoke directly with leadership in Raleigh, and the governors team asked him to leave thousands of pages of research he had brought to the meeting. His research focused on cities across the United States and Canada that had already passed SOGI ordinances or laws. This became the basis for the methods used to stop the City of Charlotte from implementing their SOGI ordinance. Governor McCrory called all state representatives into an emergency session and passed HB2 which overturned the Charlotte SOGI ordinance. With three granddaughters, he absolutely did not want them sharing locker rooms, showers and changing facilities with boys and men. His granddaughters participated in swimming and other sports at the local YMCA where the ordinance would have been forced upon them.
Daniel’s words of introduction: I began my work life helping my father manage his business. For 9 years I served bi-vocationally as a foreman and co-pastor of a church. I've been involved in frontline pro-life ministry for over 15 years, first as a volunteer and then as Executive Director for Cities4Life. Over the years I have helped train and equip hundreds of Christians on how to effectively reach women and men at local abortion centers with the Hope of the Gospel and the Help of the local church. The result has been thousands of babies saved and numerous men and women surrendering their lives to Jesus and countless believers mobilized to be a light in this dark world. I also co-host a weekly podcast called "The Gospel-Centered Pro-Life Podcast" with listeners from all over the United States. In addition, I have been involved in all areas of nonprofit management; Executive leadership, donor relations, volunteer management, email and social media marketing, to name a few. Jesus is awesome and I seek to honor and glorify Him in all I do.

Hal Weatherman for N.C. Lieutenant Governor
Meet Hal
I am a husband, father of three, and the Republican nominee for the office of Lieutenant Governor. A native of North Carolina, I received my undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and my Master's Degree from Wheaton College. I am the founder and President of the Electoral Education Foundation, a 501-c3 non profit organization dedicated to advancing election integrity efforts in North Carolina. I served as Chief of Staff to former North Carolina Lt. Governor Dan Forest and former US Representative Sue Myrick. I am a published author and have advised many Conservative candidates and campaigns over the last three decades. I am open about my Christian faith, my love for my family and my call to serve others.
Why I am Running
I am tired of money driven campaigns and candidates who only appeal to the fears and anxieties of our people, rather than their hopes and aspirations. I will run a campaign that paints an optimistic vision for our state and lifts up the people of our state.
I am a principled limited government Conservative - fiscal and social. I believe in our country's founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I believe all mankind was created in God's image and that our individual rights derive not from man or man-made governments, but are inherently bestowed upon us by our Creator and are worth preserving.
Michelle Obama Endorses Porn in Schools and Transing Kids on DNC Day 2 (The Washington Stand, August 21, 2024):
Democratic Platform Summary: Democratic National Committee (DNC) released a draft of the 2024 Democratic Party Platform. Click here to read more.
Remarks: Take a moment and read a little of what the Democratics are proposing for the future of America. More of the Obama/Biden policies. Higher taxes, higher inflation, greater push for abortion, LBGTQ, and division. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
(The American Presidency Project, July 8, 2024): To make clear our commitment, we offer to the American people the 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again! It is a forward-looking Agenda that begins with the following twenty promises that we will accomplish very quickly when we win the White House and Republican Majorities in the House and Senate.
(The Heritage Foundation, October 6, 2023): 3 million people, more or less, were “encountered” by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which includes the Border Patrol, illegally entering the U.S. in fiscal year 2023 (which ended Sept. 30). On Mayorkas’ watch, we have set the record for the highest number of yearly illegal alien encounters in U.S. history. If those caught in 2023 formed a new city, it would the third biggest in America, behind only New York and Los Angeles.
304,000 illegal aliens were encountered this August alone (the last month for which we have official government numbers). That’s the population of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
75% of August’s inadmissible aliens were freely let in by President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security. Mayorkas has told the press and Congress many times that the border is not open. But if a door admits three of every four people who attempt to go through it, can we consider it closed? A philosophical question, perhaps. Maybe we can settle on “mostly open,” like the “mostly dead” Wesley in the movie “The Princess Bride” or the “mostly peaceful” riots of 2020.
425,000 unaccompanied alien children, as they are formally called, were let into the country between Biden taking office in January 2021 and today. That’s more kids than the Chicago school district, the third biggest in the country. To pay for their schooling alone, let’s take a low estimate of Washington, D.C., school costs at $25,000 per student per year: 425,000 new students at that rate would cost over $10.6 billion a year. Even at the lower Texas or California yearly rate per student, we’re talking over $6 billion. Auditors at OpenTheBooks.com estimated that the Office of Refugee Resettlement, the office charged with caring for unaccompanied alien children, spent $18,000 per child—nearly $3 billion—in fiscal year 2022, when “only” 150,000 were let in. That figure is on top of the previously mentioned costs for education.
407,983 convicted criminal aliens are currently on Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “non-detained docket” of over 5 million cases. Put simply, these are foreign nationals who were illegally in the U.S. and convicted of crimes here. Click here to read more.
Remarks: Why would the Biden/Harris administration cause such a catastrophe? This open boarder policy is one way to dismantle America, destabilize the economy and remake it into a socialist communist nation. Open boarder policies are a sure way to destroy America. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Could Evangelicals Give Kamala an Edge? Inside the Biblical Pitch and Push for Harris (CBN, August 21, 2024): Since Kamala Harris stepped in to become the Democrat nominee for president, she’s enjoyed a wave of positive poll numbers and huge crowds at rallies. If she’s to carry that momentum into the fall, however, tapping into the Christian vote could potentially take her to the White House. Click here to read more.
Remarks: I am horrified by the notion that Mrs. Harris would become President. It’s a failure of faith and truth for professing Christians to support her and her far left liberal policies. There is something shamefully distorted to have groups like “Conservative for Harris” tout support for her. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Inflation in America: Churches Report Decrease in Giving (CBN, August 22, 2024): From the grocery checkout line to the gas pump and now the church pew, Americans are closely watching what they spend and it’s putting some churches in a bind. “Churches are in some instances struggling,” Robert Blair with Ministry Brands told CBN News. “They’re not keeping up with inflation. Donations are down. In some instances, attendance is down.” Ministry Brands’ latest study shows charitable giving in 2023 failed to keep up with inflation, with 55 percent of churches seeing a decrease in giving. This hit smallest churches the hardest, with only 36 percent reporting and increase. On top of that, cash and check donations dropped for 33 percent of all churches included in the study. Click here to read more.
Remarks: Giving to the work of Christ Jesus and His kingdom is a matter of the heart. The economy should not move us or shift our giving away from what is right. My wife and I tithe from all entrusted to us and we do so because of our relationship with Christ and not because of the economy. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
(The Epoch Times, August 21, 2024): The U.S. economy from April last year to March this year created 30 percent fewer jobs than what the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported. The correction, totaling 818,000 jobs, represents the largest downward revision to payrolls since the global financial crisis. The updated numbers were a part of the Department of Labor’s annual benchmark revisions to the payroll data. The BLS adjusts employment data annually to make the payroll figures more accurate, although it is less timely. Officials incorporate state unemployment insurance tax records and cover almost all U.S. jobs. In the 12 months through March, the U.S. labor market reportedly created 2.9 million new jobs, representing a monthly average of 242,000. Following the revisions, the average monthly employment gains were 174,000. The industries with the largest downward revisions were led by professional and business services (358,000 fewer), leisure and hospitality (150,000 fewer), and manufacturing (115,000 fewer). Click here to read more.
Remarks: The economy is far worse than the reported numbers. Very often during an election year, the numbers are moved to appeal to voters. As of 29 July 2024, the Federal Debt is over $35 trillion and increases $330 million per hour. $100,000 per person and $265,000 per taxpayer. What are the pains and difficulties of such? (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Defense Budget Talks Reignite Debate Over Military Draft for Women (The Epoch Times, August 20, 2024): Provisions in the fiscal year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would require women to register for the military draft, while carving out an exemption from serving in front-line roles, have sparked vigorous debate among combat veterans and enlisted personnel about the wisdom of such changes and their likely impact on the armed forces. The bill also pushes back slightly against the efforts of the Biden administration, often through executive orders, to bring the military into line with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals by amending the United States Code to forbid use of Department of Defense money and facilities for gender alteration surgeries. Click here to read more.
Remarks: A strong defense is a must. I am challenged by the notion of a draft for women. It was encouraging to hear a slight move away from DEI ideology. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Blinken Arrives to Push Gaza Ceasefire as Hezbollah Pummels Northern Israel (CBN, August 19, 2024): Blinken Arrives to push Gaza ceasefire as Hezbollah fires rocket into northern Israel. The U. S. continues its full-court press for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza while Iran’s proxy Hezbollah pummels northern Israel deadly projectiles. Click here to read more.
Remarks: This war with Hamas is in fact a war against Iran. It has been reported that days after the Biden/Harris administration released 6 billion dollars to Iran, Hamas attacked Israel. Some have said it did not happen, but you decide. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Dr. Johnson was raised in a small southern Texas town during the volatile sixties and seventies, Rev. Dr. Melvin L. Johnson (ML) witnessed and experienced much of the cultural changes that were powered by the Civil Rights Movement and the Viet Nam War. He and his two siblings grew up in a home with traditional Judeo-Christian values surrounded by a community where “taking a village to raise a child” was normal as well as acceptable. One unique character trait within him was to see himself as an equal to people of other races who may have considered him inferior, and identified racial hatred as being the most important issue of the time in need of solving. With an unquenchable desire to identify and solve the most pressing social problems of our time, Reverend Dr. M.L. Johnson was licensed to preach the gospel in April of 1988 at Hall Chapel Baptist Church, and has been the Sr. pastor of the Heart of Christ Community Church where he and Sheena, wife of 42 years have served for 27 years. He has earned a BA degree in Religious Education, MA degree in Christian Counseling and a DM in Theology from Covington School of Theology. He has authored several books such as Junk Food in the Body of Christ, Overcoming Racism Through the Gospel and From Heaven to You.
Rev. Johnson defines himself as being a spiritual pathologist, as he seeks to study the causes for spiritual death in individuals and offer Biblical information that transforms lives for better living. As Dr. Johnson was prayerfully researching and seeking solutions to the racial disparity problem in America, he discovered that throughout his efforts, he constantly crossed trails with one key element that either spoke out boldly or could be seen in the background of the leaders and movements especially within the struggle for equal rights for blacks in particular—socialism! To his amazement, Dr. Johnson soon discovered that the socialist movement in the United States has exerted influences throughout practically every aspect of American life, affecting all from the basic family unit to the Oval Office of the President of the United States of America. For this reason, he has written this book, “Understanding Socialism,” for the purpose of helping individuals to understand how dangerous socialism—the forerunner to communism—actually is! He has worked to present eight observations reflective of socialism’s nature and the affects it has had on cultures and nations past and present. He subtitles this book A Basic Primer not to demean or speak to the reader in a tone of condescension, but to ensure that the reader gets the message without being pulled within the proverbial tall grass.

Trump ‘Seems to Have a Very Clear View of What This Meant. God Spared His Life.’ (The Washington Stand, July 15, 2024): "There may be a day in the distant future when we look back on the field in Butler, Pennsylvania and wonder if this is where everything changed. As it is, Americans woke up Sunday morning to a very different world. In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s literal brush with death, campaigns, Congress, even political conventions seemed secondary to the deep horror at what we’ve become as a nation. And for once, after years of being at each others’ throats, a sober country has stopped to reflect: Is this really who we are? In the days and hours since the bloody president emerged from the stage, fist in the air, everyone seems to understand the gravity of this moment. America was, as so many have pointed out, less than a quarter of an inch away from a national crisis from which we may never have recovered. “Sometimes the course of history depends on margins just that small,” the editors of National Review remind us solemnly. The miracle of his survival was not lost on Trump, who acknowledged, “It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening.” In an interview less than 24 hours after the assassination attempt, the reality of what might have happened “is just setting in,” the former president told the Washington Examiner’s Salena Zito. “I rarely look away from the crowd,” he admitted. “Had I not done that in that moment, well, we would not be talking today, would we?” Click here to read more.
‘God Protected President Trump’: Shooter Attempted to Assassinate Former President (The Washington Stand, July 13, 2024): "An armed assailant attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump Saturday evening at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, apparently superficially wounding the president and apparently killing a Trump supporter before being killed by Secret Service agents. The president was showing attendees a chart of the record-breaking number of illegal immigrants who have entered the United States during the Biden administration when approximately eight gunshots rippled through the enormous crowd at 6:13 p.m. local time. The president grabbed his ear as Secret Service agents piled on him, driving him down onto the stage behind his podium. The words “shooter down!” sounded through his microphone. The shooter and a Trump supporter attending the rally died, according to the county’s district attorney, Richard Goldinger." Click here to read more.
(NC Values Coalition, July 12, 2024):
Dear Republican National Convention Delegates:
For the first time in decades, the Republican Platform retreats on life. Pro-life Americans are rightly outraged and gravely concerned. As drafted, the platform removes long-standing Republican promises on life, from prohibiting taxpayer funding for abortion to a Constitutional amendment to specific protections for unborn babies.
Since the Reagan Revolution, the party has spoken with an unambiguous voice – Republicans stand for life. Today, that promise has been watered down and ultimately compromised.
As you gather in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention, the eyes of conservatives across America are upon you. As delegates, ensuring a strong platform is your responsibility. You are the grassroots conservative leaders, entrusted by the conservatives of your states, to represent their values at the national level. This is the last opportunity to restore the Republican Party’s strong pro-life platform.
You can restore the RNC’s pro-life platform. We encourage you to support the Platform Committee’s Minority Report, amendments that strengthen the pro-life resolve of the platform, and to vote down any platform that weakens the party’s pro-life stance.
Sincerely,
NC Values & Company
Intimidation Chaired the GOP Platform Committee (The Washington Stand, July 12, 2024): "The supposed “pro-life language” in the 2024 platform reads as follows: “We proudly stand for families and Life. We believe that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees that no person can be denied Life or Liberty without Due Process, and that the States are, therefore, free to pass Laws protecting those Rights. After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the States and to a vote of the People. We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments).” Click here to read more.
Remarks: If the Republican party abandons the fight for the life of the pre-born, I will leave the party! The RNC must hold its place defending life. The State GOP must stand for life or lose a considerable number of republicans. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Robinson Narrowly Leads Stein, DeSantis Over Biden & Trump (NC Values Coalition, January 25, 2023): The North Carolina Governors race is much about life for the preborn or death.
Jason Williams, Executive Director for NC Faith and Freedom Coalition, also stated: “It’s clear that when given the choice between heartbeat protections and abortion on demand up to birth, the voters choose to protect life when an unborn baby’s heartbeat can be detected. Almost 80% of likely Robinson voters support early heartbeat protections for that unborn baby while only 45% of likely pro-choice Stein voters agree with the Democratic Party—and Josh Stein’s—extreme position on abortion on demand, up to birth.”
Tami Fitzgerald, Executive Director of the NC Values, welcomed the new polling and voiced her support for heartbeat protections: “Josh Stein will keep the abortion industry as a priority if elected governor. North Carolina has already seen the biggest increase in abortions in the nation at 37 percent, and Stein will continue to make our state a top destination for abortion. Contrast that to Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s unwavering support for the unborn. We urge any future candidates for governor to take note that North Carolinians believe in protecting pre-born babies when their hearts begin beating, over the extreme position of Josh Stein and the radical abortion movement.” Click here to read more.
Remarks: North Carolina must have a governor who will defend the moral and constitutional rights of the pre-born child in the womb. If we cannot get this essential issue of life correct, how will we be able to get any other moral, economic or social matter correct? (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Who Is J.D. Vance? Ohio Senator Tapped as Trump VP Candidate (The Washington Stand, July 16, 2024): "Former President Donald Trump announced Monday that he had selected Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his vice presidential running mate, touching off rounds of praise and occasional statements of condemnation from the pro-life community. Vance, who is presently serving his first term in the U.S. Senate, mirrors President Trump’s views on immigration and the importance of elevating the American middle class." Click here to read more.
Typically-Dem States Now in Play as Battlegrounds with Biden atop Ticket (The Washington Stand, July 12, 2024): "With incumbent President Joe Biden at the top of the ticket, Democrats are worrying that comfortably blue states may now be battlegrounds. The New York Times reported on Friday that Democratic Party operatives now classify Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Virginia — all of which Biden won in 2020 — as swing states." Click here to read more.
Remarks: Will the Democrats abandon Mr. Joe Biden this late in the political campaign? Does he have the physical and cognitive ability to finish the campaign? I believe the Dems will stick with him, and no, I don’t think he has the ability to finish the campaign race. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
John F. Lofton, named after President John F. Kennedy, was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama—the last city on the coast just before Mobile Bay. He is grateful for both his country and coastal upbringing.
He is passionate about his profession in business and technology, as well as his unrelenting call to be a pastor in the community of Indian Trail, a suburb of Charlotte, NC. His reach has no boundaries—from children to youth and from seniors to everyone else in between—he is devoted to extending his personal mission of equipping the saints for the work of the Ministry. Equipped with a vision, and a unique style of teaching he has been asked to minister to diverse congregations, denominations and non-profit organizations. His messages are hard-hitting, powerful, insightful and relevant. With great courage and great care, he also faithfully seeks to serve his surrounding police departments, school districts, and those in local positions and offices of authority and legislation in an effort to help bridge the gap between community and congregation. He is impassioned about maintaining successful and loving marriages as well as preparing others for marriage and has conducted marriage conferences/boot camps/retreats and single adult conferences that provide actionable tools that help others understand what a Covenant relationship truly looks like. He strongly believes in helping single people identify who they are in Christ and how to discern a counterfeit relationship.
In January of 2007, he and his wife initiated a Bible study in their home and it was this Bible study that God used to start a church in May of 2007.
In 2016, John launched his non-profit, John Lofton Ministries, affirming his mission to educate, motivate, inspire, and teach people to dig deeper into their callings. Pastor John looks forward to the future influence of his ministry, as well as the impact of his most recent project, his debut book, Mixture. Just as the title of the book implies, Mixture was written with the unique purpose to, uncompromisingly, lead believers away from their hindering habits and towards their capacity and calling to be distinctly different.
He is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Covenant Community Church, Indian Trial NC; Founder and President of John Lofton Ministries Inc; Certified Chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains; Board of Directors – Operation Cheer Up A Child. Currently, John resides in Midland, a suburb of Charlotte, NC. He lives there with his wife of 26 years, Elaine. They have two daughters, Ashley and Caitlin and three grand-children. He believes that building peripheral covenant relationships is essential for continued growth for any leader.
Rev. Dr. Jean Chesser has been in ministry for years. She was privileged to be born into a pastor’s home and see mighty moves of God growing up. She and her late husband, H.L. Chesser, planted and pastored several churches. After her husband passed away, she became Pastor in 1999 until 2008. She is still involved in writing and video ministry.
Rev. Dr. Debbie Brewer has written a study called “Warrior School” teaching our identity as Christians. She also conducts The Hub, a meeting to equip the Body of Christ to walk in the authority Jesus gave us.
Remarks: Whose land is it? Defending and protecting the citizens of a nation is an absolute must, therefore, Israel has every right to seek out and destroy those who are attempting to destroy them. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Southern border and a need for a wall. Is that discrimination?
Remarks: Nations have a right to ensure legal and proper immigration. How has this failed open border policy continued for so long? Is a wall on the southern border common sense? (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Remarks: How can each State ensure election integrity? What are the ramifications if we fail to? We are a constitutional Republic and the integrity of the ballot box is central to our form of government. The questions, doubts and compromises of 2020 must never happen again. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Some have said Christians should stay away from such.
Remarks: The apathy, indifference and inactivity of the America church has given rise to much of the moral and spiritual decline we are witnessing today. It has been stated that in the face of evil doing nothing is in itself evil. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Remarks: What’s the truth behind Diversity Equity Inclusion? Is this really about empowering and elevating equality and opportunities for all or is there a hidden agenda? I sincerely believe there is a hidden dark sinister agenda in the DEI initiative. At the center of this ideology is Marxism, identity politics and division. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Clarity for those who are seeking one and ministry to those who have had an abortion.
Remarks: Is innocent human life worth protecting and saving? How could this horror of abortion and murder continue for over fifty years in the land of the free and home of the brave? The battle for life is now in the hands of the States. Let’s win it once and for all. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Remarks: Sin and perversion are nothing to laugh about and lust is not love! There is a concerted plot and an organized plan to sexualize our children. It’s disturbing to witness the brokenness and deception engrossed in this wayward movement, yet protecting the children is a must. Push back against the darkness by communicating truth! (Dr. Leon Threatt)
Remarks: What are some real measurable solutions to the growing crisis of homelessness in America? Because the cause of homelessness has multiple factors, the solutions and responses must also be multi-faceted. (Dr. Leon Threatt)
